Malcolm Terry - Profile

I was born in Birmingham in the mid 1950's. After schooling I trained as a Chef and was Head Cook of my local Hospital by the age of 19. At this stage I decided that I was bored and retrained as a hairdresser specialising in Wig making and modern forms of hair replacement. I was nominated for the City & Guilds student of the year for my examination results and on completion started work in the West End of London. Wigmore Street in fact!

During this time I worked with the "Rich and Famous" and became involved with several London Theaters, Madam Tussaud's and a rather unusual, tongue in cheek, Electric Blue video called Sex Freaks special. It soon became apparent to me that hair and make up were closely connected to each other and being young and adveturous I muddled my way through until later taking training in Theatrical and media make up.

After a few years I was contacted by my old College and ask to take up Teaching which I have done since eventually becoming Head of Department in a local college. Whilst Teaching,(Theatrical and Media Make up), two enrolled students, Ann and Jax, told me about the world Body Painting Festival in Austria. Still looking for adventure we all registered and went. Ann and I have painted there every year since.

Whilst I have not attained the high standards in this field as elsewhere it is enjoyable and I have made some life long friendships.I think this was the reason that Ann, Jax and myself decided to organise a UK body painting Festival and just share our enthusiam for the Art and we were so blessed when Claudie offered to help. Now we are three years in there are more people giving up their time to help. I will not mention names in case I miss someone but you can read their profiles on the site. Malcolm Terry AKA Mr Tease.
